This twelve week placement would give the successful candidate a glimpse into the inner workings of a hybrid publisher. The position is from January 8, 2023 to March 29, 2023. The deadline for applications is December 11, 2023.

Digital Editorial Internship Responsibilities & Projects:
- Create content for our Instagram & Facebook accounts and website
- Writing press releases and creating press kits for upcoming books
- Assisting Book Designer in typesetting manuscripts
- Metadata audits
- Ebook proofreading
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Social media experience
- Takes initiative and a self starter
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and InDesign
The successful candidate will work remotely and/or out of the Creative PEI office and report to the PSP Operations Manager. They must have an Apple computer, InDesign and Word. This internship pays $25 an hour plus a monthly technology allowance of $125, it is 30 hours a week.
This position is part of the Digital Skills for Youth Program, so the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Be under 30 years of age at the start of the internship
- Have completed a program at a recognized post-secondary institution
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status
- Not be in receipt of Employment Insurance during the internship
- Self-assess as unemployed or underemployed at the time of hiring
- Not be an immediate family member of the person in charge of their hiring

Mentorship plan
The intern will be mentored by the Publisher, Editor-in-Chief and Operations Manager on a daily basis in these areas:
- Metadata best practices
- Content creation and marketing copy
- Editorial techniques
- Document markup (word and adobe)
- Ebook formats and testing
- Book and graphic design
- Book publishing trends
- The process of book publishing
They will be included in the weekly production and design specs meetings. They will also have weekly check-ins with PSP founders.
