About Caroline Woodward
Caroline is a writer of fiction for adults, poetry and children’s books which have been nominated for eleven different awards between them all. She now lives and writes full-time in the village of New Denver, B.C. after working as a lighthouse keeper for thirteen years, based on the Lennard Island Lightstation near Tofino, BC. Her books include: A West Coast Summer (Harbour: 2018), The Village of Many Hats (Oolichan, 2012) and Singing Away the Dark (Simply Read Books, 2010). The latter is also published in French, Korean, Bulgarian, Chinese and Japanese. In 2015, Harbour Publishing released her memoir, Light Years: Memoir of a Modern Lighthouse Keeper. She has served on the boards of Selkirk College, the Slocan Lake Gallery Society, the Vancouver Foundation and as the inaugural Vice-Chair of the B.C. Arts Council. She and her husband co-founded The Motherlode Bookstore in New Denver, B.C. and she spent eight years as a publishers’ sales representative for Kate Walker & Company on the north Island and northwest coast of BC. www.carolinewoodward.ca
About Claire Victoria Watson
Claire Victoria Watson was raised in Victoria, British Columbia, and spent most of her time outdoors on the ocean or in the forests. As a visual artist, her mediums of choice are pen & ink, watercolour, acrylic and digital. She is known for her stylized fine line work, organic colour palette, and capturing the unique personality of the west coast in the wildlife, ocean and landscapes (www.clairevictoria.art). Claire works as an independent artist, illustrator & graphic designer in Victoria, British Columbia, and enjoys a relatively minimalist, nomadic and creative lifestyle. After raising her family in Tofino and on Gabriola Island, Claire now calls Victoria home.
