It is with wondrous excitement and delightful anticipation that Pownal Street Press announces the 2026 publication of Ahoy, Mate, Ahoy! Miss Molly Molloy by children’s author Lisa Carmody Doiron, with illustrations by Patrick Guindon.
Set against the salty breeze and red cliffs of Prince Edward Island, Ahoy Mate Ahoy! Miss Molly Molloy is a lyrical tale of love, legacy, and the special bond between a father and daughter. Each morning, they cast their lines into the sea—but it’s not just fish they’re reeling in. With every tide and tangled net, their connection deepens, tied tight like the Celtic knot that links them.Told in playful rhyme and gentle rhythm, this heartwarming story celebrates family traditions, island life, and the unbreakable threads that hold us together. Perfect for reading aloud, Ahoy Mate Ahoy! Miss Molly Molloy is a tribute to the magic of the ocean, the wisdom of a parent’s hands, and the joy of passing our traditions from one generation to the next.
It is an honour to be publishing Lisa’s lyrical words paired with Patrick’s vibrant illustrations. From the magic of a Celtic knot, this father and daughter tale shares the power of family, legacy and tradition.
