Sometimes, the best publishing moments begin over birthday cake. About a year ago, on a quiet evening at Ada Culinary Studio, Mo and I (Gen) were celebrating my birthday with a delicious dinner among friends. As the evening wound down, we struck up a conversation with chef and owner, warm and talented Adam Loo.

When we shared that we ran a small, independent publishing house here on the Island, Adam’s eyes lit up. “I’ve always wanted to write a book,” he said. And we could tell he meant it. That night, the seed for Let Rise was planted.

A year later, that dream has risen into reality.

About the Author

Chef Adam Loo is a chef and entrepreneur. Born in the heart of Prince Edward Island’s farm country, he spent twenty years in grueling kitchens before opening his own restaurant, Ada Culinary Studio. He hopes his story inspires others in rural environments to become innovators in their own right. Adam lives in Charlottetown with his wife and children. Let Rise is his first book.
