“We are thrilled that Renée has joined the Pownal Street Press team. She brings a breadth of knowledge to the publishing process that will help us produce even more high-calibre books.”—Genevieve Loughlin, Publisher
Based in the traditional territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations, also known as Esquimalt, B.C., Renée joins us with over thirteen years of experience in self-publishing and traditional. Through her education in graphic design and subsequent roles as an author account manager at FriesenPress, editorial coordinator at TouchWood Editions, and freelance editor, Renée gained proficiency in manuscript evaluation, substantive, line, and stylistic editing, proofreading, and project management. Her editing portfolio includes local interest books, guidebooks, cookbooks, short stories, memoirs, and mysteries, many of them acclaimed provincially and nationally. She is passionate about uplifting and magnifying stories that celebrate personal journeys, promote diversity and social justice, and create a sense of community, identity, and belonging. Renée looks forward to building meaningful, collaborative relationships with the Pownal Street Press team and authors while enhancing our production and project management processes.
